Values of Art
-
visual arts not only foster experimentation and self-understanding but also understanding with regard to how we view the world (Trafí-Prats 2017)

-
Art is not only useful in the studio but is important/prevalent in other disciplines or careers (McNiff 2011).
-
The effects of creative training influence students’ abilities to problem solve and increase divergent thinking (Kani Ulger 2016)

-
Art and music can have a therapeutic approach. There is impact of the arts on behaviors and symptoms of diseases as well as understanding patients and inspiring them. (Sandak et al., 2020)

-
Art education is "capable in developing students’ civic awareness, and it is considered to have the ability to build students moral and ethical values in the real-world setting (Maaruf et al. 2013)"

-
Art has a purpose and the capability to influence how we feel but it is more than simple self-expression (Bailey et al., 2013). it encourages several significant “non artistic values” (pg. 443). “All kinds of benefits have been claimed, including improved abilities in reading, mathematics, spatial thinking, social behavior, emotional balance, and self-esteem.” (pg. 444).
